Newspaper Throw

On September 7 everyone will have the chance to see how well they can throw a rolled up newspaper on a porch. This may be new to some, but it’s the way young people earned extra money—and responsibility—for years.
 
Proceeds we make will benefit programs for children in the Elgin area. We are working on a multi-year goal to purchase a piece of special needs playground equipment for  Elgin's Randall Ridge park.

John Whalen, Parks Planner for Elgin Rec. Equipment and Parks, is pictured displaying a new park project, Randall Ridge. We presented him with our first donation of $6,000 for a piece of special needs playground equipment for Randall Ridge. Our club received a $1,000 grant from the Kiwanis International Children's Fund to assist with this project. Whalen tells us Elgin has over 70 parks and over 1,200 acres of property.
